Bize her gün festival.
Discover something new every day with Başka Sinema
Başka Sinema launched on 1 November 2013 in collaboration with the Kariyo & Ababay Foundation, bringing carefully curated films to audiences year-round and creating a distinctive cinema experience.
From the very beginning, we have brought audiences films from around the world, across genres and forms of storytelling. Curiosity, discovery and the shared experience of watching films are at the heart of everything we programme. What matters to us is the story a film tells, the world it creates and the impression it leaves, rather than the category it belongs to.
Today, our work extends beyond theatrical releases. Through film distribution, private and corporate screenings, curated catalogue programmes for cinemas and a range of content partnerships, we find new ways for films to reach audiences and for audiences to discover something new. We also bring selected titles from the Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures and TAFF Pictures catalogues, alongside National Theatre Live productions, to audiences through a variety of screening formats.
Through surprise screenings, previews, conversations with filmmakers, open-air screenings, cult classics, themed programmes and special events, we make cinema a place to come together—a shared experience that goes beyond watching a film.
Behind Başka Sinema is a team whose shared curiosity about cinema brings together different experiences and perspectives. What unites us is the desire to share the films we love with more people and make room for new discoveries together.
